Australia will not participate in Junior Eurovision 2020

Australia will not participate in JESC 2020 due to travel restriciton….

The Wiwibloggs website received the following statement from an SBS spokesperson:

“Due to the current restrictions and the ongoing uncertainty around this situation, Australia will not be competing in the Junior Eurovision Contest 2020. We have informed the EBU of our decision.”


Australia in Junior Eurovision Song Contest:

Australia has been participating in JESC since 2015, when Bella Paige participated with the song “My girls” which obtained the 8th place with 64 points. In 2016, Australia selected Alexa Curtis internally, who sang the song “We Are”, finishing in 5th place with 202 points. In 2017 they were represented by Isabella Clarke with the song “Speak up” finishing on the 3rd place with 172 points. In the edition from Minsk, Belarus, they participated with Jael Wena and the song “Champion”, finishing on the 3rd place with 201 points.
The year 2019 was the last uninterrupted edition in which Australia participated, being represented by Jordan Anthony with the song “We Will Rise”, taking 8th place with 121 points.
